4. Estimates and Project Scope

Our estimate may depend on:
- Tree size
- Tree condition
- Tree location
- Safety risks
- Equipment needs
- Property access
- Debris removal needs
- Stump grinding needs
- Emergency service needs
An estimate does not become a final agreement until both you and Gateway Tree Service confirm the price, work details, and schedule.
If the work changes, the price may also change. This may happen if we find hidden hazards, extra trees, poor access, storm damage, or more debris than expected. We will explain the change before we continue when possible.
5. Scheduling
After you approve the estimate, we schedule your service. We do our best to arrive on time and complete the work as planned.
Sometimes, we may need to change the schedule because of:
- Bad weather
- Unsafe work conditions
- Emergency calls
- Equipment issues
- Traffic
- Site access problems
- Other events we cannot control
We will contact you if we need to reschedule.
6. Your Responsibilities
You help us work safely when you prepare your property before we arrive.
You agree to:
- Give us correct contact and property details
- Tell us about underground utilities, irrigation lines, septic systems, fences, pets, or other risks
- Move vehicles, outdoor furniture, decorations, toys, and personal items away from the work area when possible
- Give us safe access to the tree or work area
- Keep children, pets, and visitors away from the work area
- Tell us about property line issues before work starts
- Get permission if the tree is not fully on your property
We are not responsible for problems caused by wrong or missing information from you.
7. Permits, Property Lines, and Local Rules
Some tree work may require permits, homeowner association approval, landlord approval, or other permission.
Unless we agree otherwise in writing, you must confirm that you have the right to request the work. This includes tree ownership, property lines, protected trees, HOA rules, and local rules.
We may stop or delay work if we have concerns about ownership, permission, safety, or legal rules.
8. Payment Terms
We explain payment terms before work begins. Unless we agree otherwise, payment is due when we complete the job.
For larger jobs, emergency work, or special service requests, we may ask for a deposit or partial payment before we start.
If payment is late, we may pause work, charge allowed fees, send the balance for collection, or refuse future service.
9. Cancellations and Rescheduling
Please call us as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule.
You can contact us here:

Phone: 386-438-0458
We understand that plans change. However, short-notice cancellations can affect our crew, schedule, and equipment planning. We may charge a cancellation fee or trip fee if our crew has already been dispatched or work has started.
We may also reschedule because of weather, unsafe conditions, emergency calls, or other issues outside our control.
10. Emergency Tree Service
We may offer emergency tree service for urgent tree problems. This may include fallen trees, storm damage, blocked access, or hazardous trees.
Emergency service depends on crew availability, weather, road conditions, safety risks, and call volume.
If you face an immediate danger involving power lines, fire, injury, or public safety, call emergency services or your utility provider first.
11. Safety
Tree work can be dangerous. It may involve chainsaws, ropes, climbing, falling limbs, heavy equipment, and large debris.
For everyone’s safety, you must keep people and pets away from the work area. We may stop work if the area becomes unsafe.
We may refuse or stop service if the job creates unsafe conditions for our crew, your property, nearby property, or the public.
12. Property Damage and Work Limits
We take care while we work. However, tree work can still carry risk. This is especially true for dead trees, storm-damaged trees, leaning trees, large limbs, tight spaces, and trees near homes, fences, driveways, or power lines.
Gateway Tree Service is not responsible for damage caused by:
- Hidden hazards
- Weak or damaged trees
- Underground systems we were not told about
- Bad weather
- Acts of nature
- Pre-existing property damage
- Wrong or missing information from the customer
- Conditions outside our control
If you believe our work caused damage, contact us quickly. We will review the issue and work toward a fair solution.
13. Debris Removal and Cleanup
Cleanup depends on your approved service agreement.
Some jobs may include hauling away branches, logs, and debris. Other jobs may leave wood, chips, or logs on-site if you request it or if the estimate says so.
Unless your estimate includes it, the following may cost extra:
- Stump grinding
- Full stump removal
- Log hauling
- Extra debris hauling
- Soil leveling
- Grass repair
- Yard restoration
- Removal of debris not related to our work
You can learn more about debris hauling here:
